Digital mentoring in a system of benchmarking of in-demanded formats of education and talent management

Abstract

The relevance of the study stems from the global digitalisation of the world as a whole and the widespread adoption and extensive use of digital education at all it levels, especially in the context of the COVID-19 pandemic. Global talent management practices are also turning to new experiences in applying digital competences and integrating them into education. As a result, there is acute shortage of digital mentors for different sections of the learning population worldwide and for talent management systems. The digital mentor has begun to play a significant role in the implementation of international and regional education development strategies. Digital mentors have become actively involved in creating user interfaces for educational systems of educational organizations. The primary task is to involve digital mentors in the implementation of educational programmes for retraining of teachers and university academic staff and integrating their skills to the needs of formal and non-formal regional education at all levels. The aim of this study was to identify the primary management methodology for digital mentoring in formal education. The study applied descriptive methods, the method of benchmarking of intellectual integrations as an analysis of best practices in international digital education. The study identified primary management vectors for the development of digital mentoring as an innovative format for education and talent management. Reflections on the implementation of digital education projects and the use of project modules in the personal development of participants in the educational process ‘incited’ the authors to highlight another strategic vector of digital mentoring. This vector should focus on overcoming personal barriers in mastering new digital environments for both mentors and learners and finding one’s place in these environments. This vector may present further research perspectives. This vector may present further research perspectives. The materials of this article will be useful for directors of continuing education institutes, heads of departments of professional development education, institutes of pedagogy within universities, regional institutes of education development, for researchers of educational integration processes.
